Museum Ephraim Palais | Stadtmuseum Berlin

The Museum Ephraim Palais is a historical jewel in the heart of Berlin. The magnificent rococo building on the edge of the Nikolai quarter was extensively reconstructed to mark Berlin's 750th anniversary and reopened as a museum of the city's history.

On the first and first floors, the museum houses the permanent exhibition "BerlinZEIT - The city makes history!", which takes visitors on a fascinating journey through eight hundred years of Berlin's history. In addition to historical artefacts, you will also find numerous digital media installations that bring history to life.

Aspects such as urban development through destruction and growth, tolerance and persecution, as well as rule and co-determination form the central themes of the exhibition. While the second floor covers the period from the founding of Berlin to the November Revolution of 1918, the first floor offers insights into more recent history, from the founding of Greater Berlin to the present day.
