NANO Science Center (EXTAVIUM Potsdam)

The NANO Science Center (EXTAVIUM Potsdam) invites visitors to explore and discover phenomena from the field of natural sciences using exciting exhibits. The focus here is on independent exploration, touching and understanding. In the hands-on exhibition, families, school classes and day-care centre children can go on a discovery tour to their heart's content.

At the chocolate marshmallow pump, they can find out how a marshmallow behaves in a vacuum. The original docking manoeuvre on the ISS can be carried out in the museum's own spaceship. Clever mice demonstrate that they can find their way around a labyrinth much better than humans. Visitors can ‘freeze’ and photograph themselves individually or in a group as a thermal image on the thermal self-image wall. And there are many more exhibits waiting to be discovered. In addition to free experimentation, courses on selected topics are offered. Visits to the exhibition and experimentation courses complement each other. The combination of science centre and school laboratory thus creates the opportunity to approach scientific topics in a playful but targeted way.
