Since 2008, the 1st Berlin GDR Motorbike Museum has been taking its visitors on a journey through the history of GDR technology and design. More than 130 restored motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, sidecars, sports and racing machines as well as special vehicles and authority bikes await you on approx. 800 square meters. Starting with the predecessor models from the 1930s until the closure of the manufacturer MZ, the collection includes almost all models from 40 years of GDR two-wheeler production.
In addition, the exhibition offers comprehensive insights with numerous background information on individual objects, atmospheric installations as well as historical picture and advertising photos.
In addition to the well-known "Schwalbe", highlights include one of the rare MZ motorcycles from the escort of the Ministry of the Interior of the GDR and an EMW R 35/3 from 1953.
The GDR Motorbike Museum is located on two floors in the historic viaduct arches and is only a 5-minute walk from the DDR Museum.
