Body

Having provided entertainment in the capital since 1960, the Cabaret Theatre - Die Wühlmäuse is Berlin’s natural home for comedy and cabaret. Celebrating national and occasional international acts, the theatre offers daily guest performances, some of whom come time and time again. But the star of the show is Dieter Hallervorden: it’s his razor-sharp wit and satirical edge that the Cabaret Theatre - Die Wühlmäuse is best known for.

A city steeped in culture

Germany’s capital has long been known for its cool vibe and avant-garde atmosphere. Having shaken off its 20th-century history, the city has renewed itself magnificently. Though there are still plenty of opportunities to learn about the past. Head to Potsdam to soak up the 18th-century Rococo architecture, or spend some time in the Berlin district of Mitte, home many of the city's most iconic sights. There are portions of the Berlin Wall still standing, as well as the Brandenburg Gate and Museum Island. But there’s so much more to Berlin. See brilliant street-art murals and counter-culture sites in Kreuzberg, or check out the art scene in Prenzlauer Berg. For an authentic piece of Berlin cultural history, head to the west of the city and catch a show at the Cabaret Theatre - Die Wühlmäuse.

Sparkling wit from the Wühlmäuse

See some of Germany’s funniest performers at the Cabaret Theatre - Die Wühlmäuse. Regular acts include Ingo Appelt, Florian Schroeder, Mathias Richling and Dieter Nuhr, who routinely cause audiences to ignite with laughter. The theatre also holds regular concerts by the likes of Purple Schulz, Ulla Meinecke and Karat, as well as a selection of other events. The cabaret festival, hosted each year by Hallervorden and broadcast onto television, is a highlight in the calendar. It's worth noting that all performances at the Cabaret Theatre - Die Wühlmäuse are in German.
