Brücke-Museum

The Brücke Museum is located in an idyllic setting in Berlin-Dahlem and is dedicated to the Expressionist artists' group "Brücke", which was active in Dresden and Berlin from 1905 to 1913.

The group, initially formed by the expressionists Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Erich Heckel, Karl Schmidt-Rotluff and Fritz Bleyl, propagated a new and freer understanding of art. The group's works are characterised by the use of strong colours and a striking, often angular design. 

The Brücke Museum's collection consists of paintings, drawings, prints as well as woodcuts, sculptures and printed matter in changing exhibitions and provides a comprehensive insight into the work of the founding members as well as Emil Nolde, Franz Nölken, Max Pechstein and other members of the "Brücke" and artist friends.
