The Bauhaus was the most important school of design, architecture, and art in the 20th century and continued to influence beyond its time: the "Bauhaus lamp", the tubular steel chair by Marcel Breuer, or the "Bauhaus wallpaper" are modern classics.
In one of the buildings designed by Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus, the Bauhaus Archive presents special exhibitions on current architecture and design themes as well as key works from the world's most comprehensive collection of the Bauhaus.
