In the reconstructed palace in Potsdam's historic centre, the Museum Barberini permanently displays the extensive collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings by museum founder Hasso Plattner - including masterpieces by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Berthe Morisot, Gustave Caillebotte and Paul Signac. With 40 paintings by Claude Monet, nowhere else in Europe outside Paris can more works by this artist be seen in one place.

In addition to the collection, the focus is on up to three exhibitions a year in cooperation with international partners and high-calibre loans from renowned museums and collections.
In 2025, the Museum Barberini will focus on the varieties of geometric abstraction, the wide-ranging work of the Impressionist Camille Pissarro and the mythical creature: the unicorn in art.

The exhibitions are accompanied by an extensive programme of events and educational activities including symposia and readings, guided tours and concerts, film evenings and workshops.  Groups, kindergartens and school classes can choose from bookable guided tours and workshops. The free Barberini app offers audio guides for adults and children, artist biographies, videos with in-depth content on works and exhibitions as well as service information.
